Update has broken Google Maps...again!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? At the start this year a big update caused havoc with my Samsung Galaxy S20, so much so that I almost bought a new phone. 

After a few months and various updates it was working ok, only Google maps didn't seem to fully recover. 

This past week another update took place and it's messed up Google Maps again and I rely on it a lot. I can't open it unless I completely clear the data every time I use it. Is it time to move over to a stable iPhone???

Hey @Essenmo72, 

that shouldn't be happening! Have you checked if the app itself is up to date as well? And have you restarted your device after the updates manually too?

If that doesn't help, try checking in with Google to see if they're aware of any issues regarding this. 

Also, let me know what else you've tried so I can ask the specialists if they know any other possible solutions (or if they know what the exact issue is).

Hi Laurens, thanks for your suggestions. I've checked Google Maps and there was an update on the 1st September and reported the problem to them. They've given me some advice and will see if that works 🤞. I'll let you know how that goes.
