I live in the UK and I'm not sure when I will get the update, can someone please help.

If the phone was supplied as part of a contract then its down to your network to finalise any relevant testing of Pie and then allowing Samsung to push the update out.
If the phone was originally imported then your reliant on the country of origin to send out the update.
If you take a look in your Samsung Members App under Notices the schedule list is there.
The J5 is scheduled for October 2019.
