About two weeks ago (probably after last browser update) Samsung Internet Browser started opening some random websites (thisdaythatage.com, indiancooking4u.online). The pop-ups occur when unlocking and also while using the phone. I did a factory reset, but after a few days the problem returned. I checked the “the list of recently used apps in Google Play Store” after a “pop-up” but all I see is Samsung Internet Browser. The “unknown sources” option is always off. I have only the default Samsung apps installed. After a quick google search I’ve noticed is that many people have the same problem, so maybe it’s a s6 related thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its happening on all sorts of phones, but boys! I've found a solution. Download avast mobile security and use the free version. Then, scan your device, I'm  pretty sure that it builds an invisible app that cant be viewed to redirect you, but avast can view and delete it, I'm not a bot I swear. Try this for the

Have you downloaded some apps recently? Especially the ones you dont use often like photo and music editors etc? I have noticed that some of those apps you dont usually open that frequently trigger these websites, maybe simulating user clicks for ad revenue? I'm  not sure but they trigger random websites from online gaming ones to pornhub survey...check for apps that you installed recently or those with permissions that they usually shouldnt need(voice recording apps wanting permissions to see your messages and usage data access etc). Uninstall those apps and see if it helps. Also include ones that  have ads from the start, when they arent used some of them tend to trigger your browser into opening certain websites for ad revenue. Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Since downloading the new version (13.0.2.9) I was inundated with unwanted websites automatically opening up on their own tab. Even if phone was idle.

I then found the fix.

Go to Samsung Internet, go to SETTINGS. Select USEFUL FEATURES. Select ALLOWED APPS. If there are any apps in this area, either delete them or turn them off. Turn phone off and back on again.

No more problems. Hope this helps.
