My G920F is running Android 7.0.  Software update menu shows all software up to date.

Other forums suggest that the G920F can run Android 10, and as my bank is switching off support for online banking for < [Android 9.0], I really want to update my phone.

  • Does the G920F actually support > [Android 7.0]?
  • If so, where can I find a reliable downloadable version of [Android 10.0]

Thanks.

Hello the S6 officially supports Android 7, there were no releases after that. Any higher versions are not official so you are exposed to various risks in the process.

Certainly not recommended as the phone has to be rooted which compromises security.

@Mansegate  The S6  devices launched in 2015  and were not eligible for Oreo (Android 8), you have the latest  official software version. https://9to5google.com/2018/04/02/samsung-has-officially-dropped-support-for-the-galaxy-s6-family  I would also strongly advise against  rooting, there will be issues with some apps  so think you should consider upgrading if in a position to do so.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

You may have to upgrade if your bank is stopping the support for the lower android that you have.
