My MIL has a Galaxy J6 smartphone that is not showing 4G as an option and Vodafone are turning off 3G.  The phone is updated with the lastest software (or so it says, hasn’t had a release since 2022), and the model should be 4G based on specs, but when I go in Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Mode the only options are LTE/3G/2G, 3G/2G, 3G only and 2G only.

Am I missing something, or is the phone not really 4G enabled?

It’s a SM-J600FN model phone running Android 10. I can share other software version numbers if helpful

So select LTE/3g/2g and she'll be fine.

Calls will work on 2g as well as 4g calling (if the device supports it).

Vodafone have already turned off (almost) all 3g across the UK.

LTE and 4G are the same thing different networks use either 4G or LTE interchangeably but they're the same thing my phone (SIM free) shows it ad LTE but my friend who's on O2 it's shown as 4G1710090302215.jpg
