An update from my new Xiaomi 15 ultra

I am so used to Samsung that I find the Xiaomi a bit difficult to adapt to, but that's normal.

The camera is amazing. Honestly. There are so many options to choose from. It gets a bit overwhelming with so many different options. They weren't lying when they said Xiaomi had amazing cameras. Every picture has zero noise.

They even have a night video mode, which looks amazing. I had issues with Samsung in low light, but this Xiaomi has amazing low-light video to the point where there are no artifacts or anything of that nature.

The zoom is absolutely amazing on this. If you think Samsung has good zoom, this Xiaomi 15 Ultra has amazing zoom with no noise at all!

One UI is definitely better than Hyper OS. Hyper OS seems to be a little behind. One UI is definitely more modern-feeling and has more features.

I had zero overheating issues. I had a lot of overheating issues with every Samsung phone. This one does not get hot at all. Even with 5G on and in high brightness and at performance mode, I had no heating issues.

Also, in the display mode, they have a variety of options to choose from, such as color scheme, and you can have your display any way you like it.

Battery life is amazing, and I can definitely feel the difference with the bigger battery. Also, with the 90W fast charging, it charges so rapidly. You can go out of the room for 10 minutes, and your battery has already gained 20%.

As for negatives, I think just the hyper OS isn't as good as One UI, so they need to improve that with software. Oh, yeah, the Mi Browser is also bad, so I use Chrome. The music app isn't as good as Samsung Music.

I would say the OS is such a critical thing for me. UI 7 is perfect for my needs. Interesting to hear a comparison, and I very much appreciate your honesty regarding what you like/dislike.

In terms of security, how do you feel? Xiaomi phones are considered secure, but they have had some security issues in the past. Xiaomi has made efforts to improve the security of its devices, but users should still take precautions. With Knox Vault, I feel incredibly secure—how does Xiaomi feel in this department?

It all sounds good so far. However I assume you have only had it for one day... so there is a lot of assumption and very early conclusions being drawn.

I have continued to watch other YouTube reviews and it indeed does look like a good piece of kit. 👍

Sounds like a great phone. I do have to ask though what you typically do with your Samsung phones. Having owned all Ultras, I have yet to find one which had any sort of "overheating" problems. In fact it's rare any phone I've used had these issues, Samsung or otherwise.

You are still in the honeymoon phase and hope you will be enjoying your phone.

I feel with Samsung you get the full package 😎.

The S series are balanced phones which can do everything you throw at them.

I have been closely watching the competition and all it boils down to is Filters and contrast with warmer or cooler tones depending on preferences.
All of which can be replicated on the Samsung devices or most Android phones.

At the end I guess it all boils down to what a person wants in their phones and what they are ready to give up.

You won't get that perfect phone which ticks all the boxes.

Hi, I have both the S25U and 15U phones now. I will have to return one of them to the seller. Samsung: better display, software, ergonomics. The photos are bad, it takes worse photos than the S24U. Quick result: It is a better smartphone. Xiaomi: better photos, speakers, battery life. Hyper OS works as it was said before and some functions are missing. Quick result: It is a better camera phone. I am still undecided which one to return to the seller I am adding a few zoom photos for comparison.

I'm in exactly the same situation.....Have the return one of these devices and I've had the 15U for about 2 days now. 

I've got my Camera gripes but it trumps it over anything else I've had so far 

My biggest issue honestly is something I never even imagined.... picking the phone off the table!!!

Believe it or not, due to the big bump, I'm always fumbling it trying not to smudge the lens. Also, reachability on Samsung seems to be much better though it's larger and not 3d curved in screen. I've used One hand op for years and quick one hand mode for years and all those miniscule things are making me think twice.

Apart from that, software is ok.... I've had Xiaomi pad as a backup and OS is familiar.... doesn't matter as I slap a Nova Launcher anyway but the suite of features like edge panel, smart select and routines is getting hard to pass.

Most likely I'll end up returning 15U but a few more camera outings might change my mind:)
