After the latest update for S20, whenever the phone is restarted i have an icon on my screen for 'Secure Folder' that i can't get rid of?

It's telling me to 'unlock secure folder to get notifications for apps that are in it'; its pretty annoying and UNSAFE having it on my screen with no way to remove it other then log in the secure folder.

All i can do is set it to remind me again in a couple of hours, which isn't ideal as then I'm stuck with it on my screen again with my only option being to tell it to remind me in a couple of hours again!

I've tried looking at its options, alerts etc, but nothing works that'll get rid of it!?

This almost totally defeats the purpose of the secure folder, its a terrible safety policy.

I cannot understand how after months and all the threads ive seen about people complaining about this, that Samsung cannot comprehend the utter stupidity of having a secure folder that alerts the world to its presence.

It would be like having a secret bunker that let off a fireworks diplay and a siren every timw you opened the doors.

Absolute clown shoes, it completely comprises the entire purpose of the folder and I do not accept their explanation.

I have never used the app and I don't have a passcode for it so I can't stop the warning message or uninstall the app. Driving me flipping crazy.

This looks like it was fixed on One UI 6.0 / Android 14.

That's not true at all.  The issue advertising that you have a secure folder to the world is still there.  Even with the new updates, versions, etc.

It is fixed on my phone with Android 14 and OneUI 6 update. The notification still shows up after reboot, but the text is "Android system". If you click on the notification it does go to the Secure folder. But I can clear it from the notification area without doing that.  The combination of a generic Android system message and being able to clear it is satisfactory in my book.

Hi BNY2
That's Nice but its not an option for those who can't go to oneui6 without having to buy a new phone. Samsung CAN and SHOULD have corrected this long ago.
