Solved Samsung Galaxy S9+ Android File Transfer to iMac
This fix works for the app “Android File Transfer” running on an iMac (macOS) it will probably work for other similar apps running on macOS.
On the phone from any screen / window, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notifications and settings window.
If you can’t see Android systems at the bottom of the screen, make sure that you’ve scrolled down to the bottom of the page, at the bottom left-hand side of the page you will see
Android system, at the right hand side of this line of text you will see a downwards pointing arrow, click on this, then tap on “Tap for other USB options”.
If transfer files is selected, select anyone of the other options, then repeat the above process and select file transfer, this should automatically open the app “Android File Transfer”
I've been trying to find a fix for this problem for years, so I'm well pleased to have found a way to solve it.

Note that you need to have the phone connected to the computer via a USB cable to get the Android System option to be displayed.
