S8 4G VoLTE

Hi,

My phone has stopped making calls and my carrier has advised that I turn on VoLTE under my 'Mobile Network' settings. But that option is not there. Samsung specs say it should be, but its not.

Before I am forced to buy another phone, has anyone else had this issue and was it resolved?

I am running Android version 9 1/3/2019.

Go to:

Settings
Connections
Mobile Network Settings

Select 5g/4g/3g/2g and you are good to go.

You may, depending on model and carrier also see LTE in the above list.

VOLTE in the UK is typically just called 4G

I dont have the 5g/4g/3g/2g option.

The options are

• 4G/3G/GSM
• 3G/GSM
• GSM only

no other options.

I have data roaming off.

yes, That's what I thought, but my provider claims I now need 4G VoLTE since they have terminated their 3G service.

The 4G/3G/GSM option isnt good enough... according to my provider. I need to get a new phone!

If your phone is a 4g phone you should be good, no need to buy a new phone

Only two official carriers in UK refer to its as VOLTE, from memory its EE and Three, I believe

If its an old SIM card.
Might be worth getting a new SIM card.
The carrier will need to activate that service.
