S21 is blocking phone numbers not on blocked list

I had a message from my mother asking me why when she phoned was I always on another line. It was odd as I hadn't been on my phone. On further investigation it appears that my phone has been blocking her number. It says "blocked call, blocked by phone". I have checked my blocked call list and her number wasn't on it. Out of paranoia I have removed all of the numbers from my blocked call list. Does anyone have any idea how to unblock her number?

This started happening today and coincidentally, it's my mother!!!

Call list says "blocked by phone" but I did not block her. When I go into the details of her contact, my options are "block contact", or "delete calls from call log". So she is clearly not blocked.

Last night I was prompted to install a security update. That's the only change that's happened between her being able to call and not being able.

Using A53 and all of a sudden my dad and stepdad are blocked by phone. Did all the cleaning. Nobody in my blocked list, so I can't just remove them. Hoping the Device Care will work. There's no clear cache..

Same thing is happening on my phone with my father's phone number.  It will not let me call him either!  I tried everything noted in this discussion with no luck.  Phone updated to A13 last week and did another update this morning. My phone says "blocked by phone" when I look at the contact log.

I'm having this exact same issue, a phone number clearly in my contacts is being auto blocked by my phone, and now when my family members trying to get into the house and my alarm is going off, I have no idea what's going on and I wake up in a panic. Because my phone decided that a contact that I have saved needs to be blocked from calling me. I shut off my caller ID and spam protection because that seems to be the only fix

We aren't blocking our contacts, our phone is doing it preemptively without any input from the user

I'm having the same problem on my Samsung phone. My mums number says blocked but I haven't blocked her. Very odd...

Hi, you have to turn off Samsung caller ID and spam protection, it used to do the same thing on my S10+ for some reason their spam protection blocks whatever number it decides is spam even though you haven't personally added this number to your blocked call list. Quite annoying to say the least.

@Everyone I'm glad that this wasn't just me. Odd that it's parents or spouses that were being blocked.
