Short answer is you won't know if anything inside was affected.
Possibly not if all is working ok and yes Samsung rigorously tests their phone's before releasing them into the market.

I have done similar things before and had no issues.
My old Galaxy Note 10+ fell out of my pocket onto a brick drive as I was stood on my Transit van roof.
Was in a case but it still worked perfectly OK afterwards
