S21 Can't hear phone calls since today

So when I tried to use my s21 phone today, I found that people could hear me but I couldn't hear them.

It's not the speaker or audio output, as the phone is able to play system noises and music ok , it's just a problem with phone calls.

I updated the phone with the latest update last night and wonder if it's to do with that?

Any help would be very welcome as I use the phone for my work (though it's my own phone, I am self-employed so have no support) and really need to get this solved

I've looked through settings and can't find anything that solves it

I don't know if this will help you with your device. But I swapped my sim from slot 1 to slot 2 and it fixed my issue.
Not sure that's the best fix but it's worked.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK Community Forum

We have seen a number of posts recently about a similar issue with S21 Series. Did you search before posting your question?

Firstly, your device with One UI6.1 is far more customisable than they used to be.

Please make a call, for example to your voicemail, once the call is connected, press the volume up button to the right hand side of your device to ensure volume is working fine.

Alternatively, go to:

Settings
Sounds
Volume
And check that your volume for calls is set to the required level.

See if either of these solutions fix your issue.....

OK, I'm glad (sort of) to know it's not just me, that tells me it's a software/ update issue?

Thanks for responding

I'm not sure what you mean by "your device with One UI6.1 is far more customisable than they used to be"

but in any  case, yes i've tried all that as well as turning the phone off and on more than once - no luck I'm afraid.

Add i did search the forums but only found threads from 2021 and further back

If you could point me to the more recent ones that would be useful

There have been posts just this week!!!!

Ok next thing is to perform a Wipe Partition Cache on your device. I'll be honest and say this is less likely to fix the issue but it's worth trying and is good practice to do every few months or so anyway

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer USBC to USBC (you may also connect to another Samsung mobile via USBC). Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
