S10 Gallery to SD card loses groups and albums

Hi, I used Samsung File Manager to transfer pictures and movies to my SD card. Over 7000 items have moved over, but all my groups and albums have been lost. 
Can my SD card hold hold groups and albums? If so, what transfer method do I use to do so?

Can I undo the transfer action?

Are you using Gallery to view your pictures? You might need to restart your phone before Gallery can organise everything. Did you transfer your photos in the original folders? 

On my Samsung A12, nearly all my images are on the sd card. when I open Gallery In Album view, everything that is in a folder can appear as a separate album. In picture view if I click the multiple square icon then similar photos are automatically arranged into groups.  Clicking again will ungroup them. Clicking the 3 dots gives other options.
