it is a good idea to use device care to clear RAM... and close all apps... and then give a period of cooling before running the performance benchmarks.
it seems like frigging it a bit... but the idea is to use these tools as an indication that the performance is the same across new software versions and different updates.
the same goes for 3Dmark benchmark... but if you run this geekbench after stress testing 20 minutes of 3Dmark you will get a worse results... due to the CPU needing some time to cool down.
I will be using these tools to run before and after a new software... to verify that something hasn't been 'broken' in a future software release, and check my temps under stress.
