As of today I can no longer control volume on my Bluetooth headset separately from the phone. Now the volume is too high on the lowest setting. Prior to today under advanced in the Bluetooth settings there was an option to toggle media volume sync but it is gone now. Before anyone suggests using developer mode to disable absolute volume, that does nothing.

What phone do you have? Have you made sure to disconnect and unpair the Bluetooth headphones before disabling the audio sync? Are you sure that the headphones have low volume only in your phone and have you tried to pair it to another phone? I know that this just sucks, but if you want a solution, this might be it.

I have S10 note and yes the phones are fine on other things such as my galaxy watch. The whole problem is caused by the fact there is no sync, so no I cannot switch that off

Did it many times. I have galaxy s8+ and couple days ago media volume sync started to be grayed out. I have air pods pro and now they play quiet. I have tried all combinations with this developer option but it's still very quiet 😞
When I bought air pods and they were quiet I turned on medi volume sync and played very nice and loud. Then I don't know why (maybe there was some update) it was disabled and buds playing very quiet 😞 any help appreciated

Not only that, I have now noticed that I have to have the sound in my car up to almost full volume now. What the hell is going on. Are Samsung going to fix this or what ?
I am one very pissed off user right now.
I know it's not a Samsung product but if I add this to how ***** Spotify is on my Galaxy watch (which I use when I go running) the whole music experience at the moment is about as bad as it could be.
Premium platform, I think not.

Hi Guys! I actually DO have a solution, and it literally took me about an hour and a half working on it. You guys are NOT going to believe what it is. So I came here originally to find this same solution. Both my headphones (bluetooth) were at mid-volume on my phone and it made my daily bike rides a bummer. So I saw the answers on here and I tried them. I did the update, and then ANOTHER update, then my options mentioned above also disappeared. There no longer was the "volume sync" option available. Long story short, after MUCH time spent on this problem, I simply went to Developer Options and shut THAT completely off. As soon as I did, both my bluetooth headphones were BLASTING. I'm IN!!!!! (So, in other words, don't go INTO the Developer Options menu and try to adjust the media volume, just simply SHUT OFF Developer Options entirely.) Now, I just checked and it's no longer in my menu at all, so I have NO Developer Options anymore, but who cares. I have my music crankin'!

maaaan!! you made my day. it's amazing that now my sync media control is available and sound is lauder. Just one thing when I did it and restarted it did not work so I went into apps -> settings -> storage -> clear data. Then it worked for me.
Again thanks a lot!

THANK YOU!
I had only enabled developer mode as a possible solution to this problem, so I wonder if you actually have to enable it then disable it. But whatever, I am very happy that this has worked.
Thank you for your persistence. Bravo!

I have tried everything listed in this thread and noting has made any difference on my bluetooth volume problems. I have 3 different sets of earbuds from top of the line Sonys on down and, though some have a higher max volume than others, none get very loud even with the volume set to maximum.
My phone is an S10 running Android 10 and all the latest updates. Not sure when this problem started but I do remember that I used to be able to get the bluetooth volume to the point where it would be painful and still have some room to spare. Now, even with the volume at maximum, the sound is below the level it use to be when the "loud volume" warning would pop up.
I have disabled absolute volume, re-enabled it, turned off devloper settings and then turned them back on again and tried the whloe thing from scratch. Unpaired every bluetoogh device that was ever connected and tried the whole shooting match all over again multiple times... nothing has made one bit of difference in the volume I can get out my bluetooth devices.
To test the earbuds themselves, I fired up my Moto Droid that I had been using before the S10 and paired all my bluetooth devices to it. Ear bleeding volue possible from all. Something needs to be done to fix this without spending half a day messing with settings and still no answer.
