Hi guys,
I have a really weird problem.
Since last week, shortly after I updated my phone, I have had complaints from people I call to, that they hear themselves talking to me, an echo of them voice.
I have the phone from February and before that I did not have such a problem until last week.
I shook myself in various forums, but I do not find a similar problem and its solution. Please help, because it is terribly annoying. As a primary solution, I have reduced my microphone to a minimum and so the echo is very weak and almost invisible, but from the other side do not hear me very well.
Solved! Go to Solution.

I had different people on other phone services and T-mobile saying that they were getting and echo of themselves during our conversations and I could partially hear what they were getting echo-wise. Sometimes turning off the speakerphone worked. However, best fix is to go to Settings and Turn Off Wi-Fi Calling. Then restart your phone. This method worked for me.

Try this: Go to Settings and Turn Off 'Wi-Fi' Calling. Then restart your phone. Also reset Bixby to default.

No need to turn off wifi calling first. Just restart your phone and it will reset whatever needs resetting internally, and then restart your call. You'll be fine for a (very) short while.

I have same problem when connected to wifi. I have poor service where I live so I HAVE to use wifi. I have been a pro-Samsung user for years but now I'm going to have to go to an iPhone. Sorry Samsung but this is a HUGE no go! This is a problem that should have been fixed a long time ago. Good luck to you trying to stick it out.

And here I thought all this time (over 12 months now) that I just dropped my phone and it was my fault. Ugh. So I just had my S21 replaced under warranty and second call out of the box the problem surfaced. Hence my mad dash to Google to find you folks. Glad we are all in the icy waters together.
Headphones seems to work, resetting the phone clears it for a bit, but it always seems to reoccur as soon as I get out of the car and reconnect to Wifi Calling. I'll try turning off the Wifi Calling but as many others have said, a lot of us need it. If Bluetooth works without issue, I guess I will have to go back to using my Bluetooth headset.
This really blows hard Samsung. You are losing a ton of customers!!

Hello there Kvegas...welcome to the Samsung Echo Club. You've done 100% of what the rest of us have over the last 2+ years, and over at least 3 models - S20, 21, and 22. As you have noted above, you would figure that by now they'd have SOME kind of a fix. They have fixed other little niggly problems that have plagued us. But not this one. I'm beginning to suspect that it may be more of a hardware problem rather than a software problem. But that's just speculation on my part.
Also - as you have noticed - everything else pretty much works OK. Just this one function using WiFi. Can't wait to see how the S23 fares. It's a shame we haven't been able to start a class action suit on this item.

After living with this problem for over a year, I finally found a real solution that seems to completely resolve the problem. None of the other things I found worked and I am unable to disable wifi calling (as some suggest), because I need it in my house due to cell tower reception limitations.
Anyway, the solution is to go to Settings\Advanced features and disable "Video call effects" and reboot. I have no idea how Video call effects are related to this problem or why this was the magic fix for me, but I really don't need that feature anyway. I thought I would post this information because I had such a hard time finding it and wanted to share to help others as frustrated as I was.

Appreciate you providing a solution that works for you (and hopefully others). I just gave this a shot, unfortunately the caller is still getting an echo from their voice. I was actually about to buy a new phone today (NOT a Samsung, EVER again) and then saw this. Unfortunate 😞

I continue to have issues with others hearing themselves (Echo) when on calls with my Galaxy S21. Its been two years and disappointing there hasn't been a solution identified and published. The only remedy I have found is to reboot the phone entirely. It works for a while as a temporary solution, however it is short lived. It is worse when using speaker phone. I'm unable to determine the trigger which initiates the echo to be invoked.
