This new update is complete garbage. If you can keep the standard navigation as buttons, you can keep them as gestures. Android default should be an option to choose if you prefer it, NOT rammed down our throats.

The unique navigation on Samsung Galaxy phones is why many people buy them. If we wanted to have the same ***** as everyone else, we'd buy a Pixel.

Shame on you, Samsung. Shame on you for abandoning years of consistency in favour of trying to do what everyone else was doing that made them want one of your phones instead.

Hours of my life wasted because you can't understand that if a small group of people want something, you shouldn't change the experience for everyone.

My point is that we shouldn't have to waste our time trying to find a third party fix for something that wasn't broken in the first place.

I have already implemented this fix, but if it throws up any major problems, I won't feel inclined to buy Samsung when I replace my laptop, multiple tablets and TVs. If they messed with SmartView and replaced it with Chromecast because THAT was the Android default, I'd go back to Sony.

It's all part of the latest Google Android operating system.
So all Android devices will eventually get the same setup.

But as @timbo586 has said. Download the Samsung Goodlock and Navstar plugin to customise your controls how you want them

Missed the point mate, just like the other guy.

2 seconds of forethought on Samsung's part and that would have just been an option presented to us right off the bat.

I'm annoyed because this has been a prized feature for many users who moved to Samsung phones 10+ years ago.

It's not really a third party app though, it's affiliated with Samsung.

I'd like the AOD settings to return, rather than using LockStar, but tbh the number of options and settings and menus is getting ridiculous and almost overwhelming, imo. Samsung phones were previously criticised for being bloated, and many requested an almost Pixel like experience on Samsung hardware. I'd like something in-between, and would hate for all of the GoodLock modules to be included in the stock ROM. At least this way there's more choice

Yes exactly this. Consumers wanted a phone that wasn't so overly complicated to find things in settings. So Samsung simplified things and for those that still wanted options. Gave us more options in Goodlock.

I have Android 15 Development Beta on my old Pixel phone, and nothing has changed in settings. So the changes are here to stay unless Google decides to alter things again

The definition of "third party" is when it doesn't originate from the manufacturer. Regardless of their affiliation, GoodLock Labs aren't Samsung.

For years, I've just used the search feature to find the settings I want, and to this day can't understand how people find contextual searching "difficult".

Criticism aside, changing something because someone complains it isn't like another manufacturer just stifles progress and development. Adding the option to emulate another manufacturer is complementary.

Google "One Ui 6.1 gestures" for a read on how many people this pissed off. If you want a Pixel-like experience, go buy a dawned Pixel!

I don't need to Google that, there's posts on here every other day about it. Mostly people are content to find a solution to revert it.

Most users would probably have requests for features to be baked in to the OS, and maybe Samsung will bring back their previous gestures and other removed options, but it seems unnecessary getting annoyed when a solution is available via a Samsung approved module.

I don't want a pixel thanks, Samsung hardware is superior.
