Hi people, hope someone can help.

Recently ported my number to a new network but the about section on my S21 amd the Sim Manager section still show the old number that cam with the sim.

It's not causing any massive issues but it is annoying as my contact is asking me to add the old number to my profile and when I add a new card to Google Pay I get a warning that tells me my actual number isn't the one for this mobile.

Can anyone shed any light on how this can be amended? I've contacted my network operator and they said the port is fully complete on there end so there is nothing they can do.

I also have the problem on the S21 Ultra. However I spoke to a really nice lady who works for EE and she told me how to get around the issue so at least all texts can come through (e.g text verifications for adding new payment cards into Google Pay).

Go to Settings, search for 'My Number' and choose 'Google Assistant, Phone Number'. This will show as empty. Click to add a number. Delete the number that is being shown and replace with your number.
You will then receive a validation text code from Google. Enter this number into the verification screen.

As soon as I did this I received the missing verification texts for Google Pay.

I also found another section within the Settings where the temp number was being shown. Go to Settings, type 'number' in the search and scroll down to 'Others / Phone Number'. Click on it and within here change the Phone Number that is being displayed.

However after apply both these changes, the number within SIM card manager its still showing the temporary EE number from the new SIM and not my ported number.

I will probably have to go into the store and ask them to apply the solution above, however for now this should get everything working.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

old topic but I came across this with the same issue moving sim to my s24...called EE as my mobile network...all I needed to do was refresh my network settings...they did the same...restarted and all correct!

(so no store or replacement sim service needed!)
