I've noticed since the latest A13 update I now have both Messages apps pre installed.

There isn't an option to disable from the OS.

Is it save to remove one via ADB?

I have both on my S22ultra, personally I use the Samsung one as my default setting.

@94burns  you should be able to Disable Google Messages via Apps-Google Messages-option at Bottom of Screen.

Yes would be able to remove via ADB but best only to use if you you are familiar with it.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I believe Samsung for some reason is pushing people to use Google messages.

If I remember clearly if you reset your phone or after android 13 it gives the option for Google messages instead of Samsung messages .

Yeah, Samsung will be killing their own Messages app, and moving to Google Messages. Thr phone dialler will be going the same way. Most Android phones now default to the Google apps and don't have any other option.
