Galaxy S9 Missed Call Notification

After a recent update, the missed call notification light won't go away until I call the number back. I can swipe the notification away, open my call log, even open the info option for the missed call, the light continues to flash unless I call the number back. This is frustrating because it prevents me from catching new missed calls and forcing a call to a missed number, esp if it's a number I have no intention of calling (known  scam numbers), is extreme. I usually call long enough for the ringing to start then hang up.
