Good evening
This afternoon, all of sudden, 3 extra icons appeared on my navigation bar.
These are (in order) a triangle, a circle, and a square.
All of them are faded, whilst the normal 3 buttons (recent, home and back) are still there and functioning normally.
I'm assuming that I've accidentally hit a button, or my phone is starting to go wrong.
Can anyone help to remove these extra icons?
Many thanks.

Could you try changing your wallpaper.
You need to crop the top and bottom of your photo so that they don't appear.

Thanks. Is there anything ticked in Settings > Display > Navigation bar? Which Android version are you running?

Thanks. I see that the symbols are appearing there. Are they only present on the home screen? Is the wallpaper you're using a screenshot that could have these symbols on?

You are both quite right, it was the wallpaper!
Not sure how it happened but all is well now.
Many thanks.
