App optimisation keeps resetting unrestricted app

I have an app on my S21 Ultra that doesn't operate correctly when optimised (AAWireless, for an android auto wireless device which has connection dropouts if optimised). I change the app settings>battery from optimised to unrestricted, but shortly after it changes back to optimised. Is this an error, or should I be sticking this unresticted somewhere else?

I have added it to the do not sleep list.

Not sure if your on android 13 but there is some sort of battery optimisation bug at the moment

Have you tried
Settings - battery and device care - battery - background usage limits - never sleeping apps + android auto

I just upgraded to a S23 ultra and have the exact same issue on android 13. Samsung support want to do a screen share session, not sure what good that's going to do though, as it seems to be an android bug that is experienced across other devices.
