4G Performance on Exynos S21 Ultra is waaayyy slower than an S10+ or S20+

Hi

Has anybody else noticed that the S21 Ultra doesn't seem to deliver consistent and reliable 4G speeds, particularly in terms of 4G uploading. I've done a comparison between my S21 Ultra and a S10+ both on the same network (EE) and the results are shocking.

The S21 Ultra simply doesn't consistently reach the same levels and upload is extremely weak for me - seems to take the phone a number of second to "wake up" and send any data over 4G.

WiFi is fine but the 4G speeds are pushing me to return the phone.

Have others noticed the same issue?

Interestingly, Samsung seem curious, which makes me think that there's been other similar reports. It would be strange if everything else works ok to believe this is a fault with the phone.

Thanks.

Very sad to report that the latest update does not touch connectivity issues for me - speeds are still poorer than the S10+! I do believe it's a software issue but little confidence Samsung will do anything about it.

ask your network provider for a new SIM card. as this is a brand new phone your sim could be old and cause problems too.

I did wonder about this but I think this type of problems wouldn't just effect uploading and nothing else?

I confirmed the same issue on my O2 SIM2 too so I don't think it's SIM or network related.

You are not alone.  I am experiencing the same issue. Currently using Note 10 Plus (Exynos)and S21 Ultra (Exynos). Both the phones are on the same network. Note 10 Plus upload/download speed seems to be more consistent and faster than what I get on the S21 Ultra. And because of this the VOLTE connection on the S21 Ultra is so bad that it is unacceptable for such a phone.

Also, factory reset, change of sim cards, etc does not seem to help at all. Totally disappointed. Hoping this can be fixed in software. I am more suprised that people are not talking about this. Maybe I just have a faulty phone.

Honestly, I think people haven't started to notice as they are using WiFi being at home etc. Later in the year though... they'll be fuming!

For anybody else noticing the 4G problem - please report this issue via Samsung Members error report and maybe link to this post: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s21-series/4g-performance-on-exynos-s21-ultra-is-waaayyy-...

Theone glimmer of hope is that Samsung haven't closed this error report, yet.

I believe this is an issue with the software or modem. I don't think people necessarily run the comparisons I have between their phones so might not notice this whilst stuck indoors at home. As people go outdoors more and use 4G instead, I think you may very well have this problem. I hope this thread is a good reference point if Samsung haven't already fixed the problem.

Does the latest AUB6/AUB7 update make any difference? Because I noticed my signal is a little bit stronger indoors since this latest update. Could be a placebo too.

Not for me it didn't. I rally between 1 and 2 bars in my living room so hard to tell if cosmestically Samsung have improved network connection but my upload speed via 4G is pathetic and even sometimes non-responsive! 😞

Not noticed any improvements in 4G performance since I got this phone.

I've noticed the same issue between the s10 and the s21 on the 3 network (see attached, s10 pictured). This is after the February update.
