What do you prefer, lateral or on-screen fingerprint reader?

I'd much prefer a lateral finger print scanner. I use a Proporta glass screen protector on my S22. So the in-display scanner doesn't work for me. A power button scanner would be ideal.

On screen. My S22 works perfectly. My S8 Tablet with a bulky protection case doesn't alow the space for it to work at all.
My old Lenovo had a lateral scanner but placed on a flat next to the finger pad.

 I only have experience of the on screen version which works pretty well for me but I think the lateral version tends to have greater accuracy,can see why it may be more attractive for some users.
