My wife and I both have the same Samsung phone - both SM-G950F. Both using Android version 9. Obviously apps displayed differ slightly according to our need, but many of the basic functions are different.  As my wife is not very IT friendly it means that I have to teach her some things and I find that I have difficulty in doing so.  For example clearing logs such as past messages - the screen layout and location of Delete is totally different between the two phones. How can I ensure they are identical in respect of all the basic functions? I bought the same make and model for that requirement.

Are both phones identical in relation to software updates? Has something changed since you got them or were they always different straight out of the box.

It could be that one of you is using Google Mesaages app and you or your wife is using the Samsung Mesaages app (icon with 3 dots). Hence the difference.

Thanks for replies. Both phones were purchased via Amazon refurbished so as far as I can recall were the same. Both use Samsung messages.

-The SM-950F is an international variant of the Galaxy S8. I wonder if you got two different versions. There's the SM-950F and the SM-950FD. The 950F has a single SIM slot and the 950FD has a double sided SIM slot where the memory card goes. Now I'm sure you would of noticed this, especially if you've fitted memory cards to both phones, but it's worth noting in case you missed it.
