Hello, I have an S22 Ultra with a secure folder that I forgot the password of. Other posts I have read say there is a "Reset Password/PIN" button but it does not display on my screen. Can somebody please help me?

Hi @monk33  There should be an option to Reset password.

Users are able to  reset it by confirming the Samsung Account you used to set it up.

  1. Open Secure Folder on your device.
  2. Tap FORGOT PASSWORD.
  3. On the next screen, login with your Samsung Account. If you forgot your Samsung Account password, reset it here.
  4. In the pop up box, tap RESET PASSWORD.
  5. Enter your new password.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Sorry to hear of your issues with Secure Folder.

I have just taken a look. Tap in the wrong pin (but the right number of digits). Once you've done this, just underneath where you pop your pin in their will be a "Forgot Pin" button. Tap that and follow the on screen instructions to sign into your Samsung Account and reset.

@monk33 I'm sorry to see that the troubleshooting steps by our esteemed Samsung Stars did not resolve your issue.

When setting up a Secure Folder, you are prompted to choose the lock type you would like to use. When selecting your lock type, there is also an option called "Reset with Samsung account", which will allow you to reset your password in the event of it being forgotten.

If you are not being presented with the means to reset your password, then this option was not selected. As this is a security and privacy feature there is no way to bypass this, so it will not be possible to access any files contained within your Secure Folder.

In order to use the Secure Folder again in the future, you would need to delete the one you currently have, which would also delete all of the files and data that has been stored in there. To do this, enter your password incorrectly 20 times, then go to Settings > Samsung account > Sign out > Secure Folder > Create delete option.

We have an online guide that takes you through the set-up process, and some more information regarding the Secure Folder, that you may find helpful.

I understand this is not the news you will have wished to hear, and I sincerely hope it does not cause you any inconvenience.
