I always find upgrading Samsung to Samsung a chore, sometimes a major self infected start from scratch and just the data, or the restore option.

Yes the Samsung Smart Switch option transfers all the data, settings but every single app, service needs to be re signed into, which ends up taking a few 3 hours over a few sittings, assuming you remember all them passwords.

Setting up another iPhone 16 yesterday took about 45 mins, to transfer, upgrade to IoS18.2 and AI, then only re logins for Microsoft, Ring and Eufy, everything else was good to go and Key Chain is sleek.

Definitely something Samsung could Xerox for Apple... what do you think?

Smart switch is brilliant didn't take long but logging into everything is effort. I got my new phone 3 weeks ago and there's stuff I still haven't logged into πŸ˜‚πŸ€” come on Samsung keep up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

I hear you chuck normally i keep my old mobile alongside to aid logins and reauthorise stuff, but not this time.

It ruins the new mobile experience, I want to spend time testing the new features not huffing and puffing after 10 logins and 20 to go even with a password manager.

Don't bother with smart switch. Use the native Google android copy to copy from phone to phone. Regarding apps they are redownload and Google will offer to sign in to most apps with saved username and password.

Close but I avoided Google password saves and Samsung.
On Apple majority didn't even require a re sign in

Oh I get it completely. I'd rather be enjoying the new phone than sitting there trying to login and change passwords πŸ˜‚

So it's somehow remembering the sign in credentials
