Is anyone using Samsung's A53 smartphone and recently updated Abbott's Freestyle Librelink glucose monitoring app from version 2.8.4 to new version 2.10?

Has anyone found that following the update of LibreLink to 2.10 that they are unable to receive minute-by-minute glucose readings in the LibreLink 2.10 app? Instead you get constant signal loss warnings and notifications that the low and high glucose alarms don't work?

Has anyone been able to resolve successfully and permanently the above issues?

I have tried switching Bluetooth off and on and turning the phone off and on. I have also tried deleting the cache in "memory" of LibreLink 2.10. Nothing has worked.

Compatibility issues with Libre has been posted a lot, it seems that Libre need to update their software if I remember right

Unfortunately it isn't as simple as that.

I have discovered on another forum that the issue is apparently caused by a software update that was issued by Samsung that affects Bluetooth functionality on some Samsung A Series smartphones, including the A53. Apparently Samsung are aware of the issue and they are supposed to be arranging another software update on or around 24 July 2023 to fix the problem.

I have not seen that on here, but ok. So there isn't anything anyone can do until then

The Report I read was on a forum specifically for diabetics using automated insulin delivery systems ("AID") comprising an insulin pump, a continuous glucose monitor and a controller such as a smartphone.

Apparently someone using an A series Samsung phone (A53 or A33) so the insulin pump and cgm could communicate with each other noticed that the pump and cgm weren't communicating following a recent Samsung update.

I assume the pump and cgm manufacturers contacted Samsung and reportedly Samsung is working with them to fix the problem.

That's great, I am not diabetic so can only go on what has been posted here

Glad Samsung knows about the issue and working in it

Thanks thats good news I hope, got exactly the same problem on with Librelink 2.10 on my A53 5G.

Hopefully issue with pump and cgm has same cause as that Librelink issue.

Anybody found that the do not disturb override doesn't work with Librelink even if you set it up on the list of allowed apps ?

Yes the "do not disturb" override on the A53 does not work with LibreLink 2.10.

LibreLink 2.10 is currently unusable on my A53 (unless I want to scan the Libre 2 sensor, which defeats the entire purpose of the LibreLink update).

It looks like the LibreLink 2.10 update has been really poorly executed though. There are lots of very unhappy iPhone users who have been unable to use it since Abbott rolled it out on 12 July 2023.

Hi, I am a T1 using Libre 2 and Librelink 2.10. My phone is an A33 5g..
I have the same problems, no alarms and also the new feature of blood glucose update every 1min does not work.
Alarms used to work until the update although they have been unreliable for a few months.
I am tempted to do a factory restore on my phone and then not update from Android 12. All the discussion seems to be around Android 13 and A53/33.
Has anyone tried this?

Hello. No not tried your solution. Am simply not prepared to start from factory settings again just to get Libre 2 and LibreLink 2.10 to work on my A53.

Samsung have now started rolling out a firmware update (A536BXXS7CWF6) to fix a known issue concerning Bluetooth on the A53 and some other A series Samsung phones following an update to One UI 5.1 that Samsung/Google issued in June 2023.

Have you received the new firmware update A53BXXS7CWF6 yet? You might want to wait for the firmware update first before resetting your A53 to factory settings.

Abbott sent an email two(?) days ago to those using Android phones who received the new LibreLink 2.10 app. The email suggested that those who received 2.10 were reporting issues with the new LibreLink app in any event (which Abbott are trying to fix, do the rollout to Android users has been paused).
