I am the developer of an Android app.
I have one user with a persisting issue which prevents our app from accessing and loading the pictures. I'm trying to find a solution but I think it is related to his device so I'm creating this post to see if some other people are sharing the same issue, hoping to find some fix for him and other people if any.
The user is on a S21 running Android 14. Through my app, he has the possibility to add a profile picture by either selecting an existing one, or by taking a picture.
Both ways lead to the same outcome, my app cannot get the picture.
If he choose to select the picture, the gallery is opening, he select a picture, but it never reaches my app in term of data.
Same for taking a picture. The logs I have currently are not showing something useful around this.
All related permissions are allowed, full access to pictures files (no new Android 14 restrictions of access to pictures).

One of the users in the thread has the "Work Profile" options enabled but did never choose to enable it, he suspects that the update to Android 14 triggered it and is the root cause of the issues.
When doing a video sharing call with my user, we found out that this option was enabled on his phone too while he never choose to enable it. So perhaps there is a link there. We disabled the option but the issue remains.
There is no work account setup in Account Management, nor the option to switch from a personal to work profile on his device, which makes sense if there is no Work Profile.
But I feel like this option that was enabled has to do with it and perhaps has a remaining behavior on the device configuration even after disabling it.
