Hello Samsung team,
I’m reaching out on behalf of many Galaxy users who are frustrated that aptX Adaptive (as well as aptX HD / Lossless) remains disabled on Snapdragon-powered Galaxy flagships even though the hardware supports it.
Every Galaxy S‑series with a Snapdragon chipset should technically be able to use aptX Adaptive, yet all we get in Developer Options is basic aptX, no HD, no Adaptive, no Lossless
This seriously limits the audio experience with high-end wireless headphones, which default to aptX but can't reach their full potential. Instead of enjoying full fidelity and adaptive bitrate, we're stuck with lower-quality sound.
The community has been requesting this for years Galaxy S22, S23, S24, and now S25 owners all face the same issue and yet there’s been no clear official commitment or timeline.
Meanwhile other brands even in mid-range support full aptX Adaptive and Lossless. It’s especially puzzling given that Qualcomm has open-sourced these codecs; licensing shouldn’t be a deal-breaker.
Can Samsung confirm officially whether aptX Adaptive (and HD/Lossless) will ever be enabled on Galaxy flagships?
If yes, which models and when? If not, can you let us know so users can manage expectations responsibly?
It’s a shame that such flagship phones, some costing over €1,000 are held back by software restrictions when the Snapdragon hardware clearly supports these codecs. Especially when other Android phones offer them out of the box.
We’d sincerely appreciate a clear, transparent answer from Samsung so the community knows whether to keep hoping or move on.
Thank you.

Hi @fl0117 :Whilst I agree that more options should be available the reasons seem to be that Samsung promotes its own scaleable code and possibly licensing fees.
It was previously reported some time ago that APTX HD would not be supported as the Developer tests revealed a issue with Audio chopping and suport for Adaptive APTX has not materialised.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
