Please bring back “Lock Secure Folder when leaving app” in One UI 8

Hi Samsung Community,

I’m using a Samsung device with One UI 8 and I noticed that the option to “Lock Secure Folder automatically when leaving the app” is gone. This feature was really useful for keeping my private information safe quickly and easily.

I hope Samsung can bring this feature back in a future update. It would make the Secure Folder much more convenient and secure.

This isn't about using a timer, there used to be an option to lock when you left an app that was opened from secure folder. Now you have to do that manually or manually turn off the screen. If I go into secure folder and back to non secure folder, someone just needs to press the secure folder icon again and gets in with no authentication. Given that thieves these days wait for yoj to have your screen unlocked to snatch your phone, having certain apps behind a regularly locking folder had a lot of advantages. This change removes that extra layer of security. I would not have updated my phone if I knew that was going to be the change.

While I know what you mean, the solution for the theif thing is enabling "theft detection lock".

The assumption is you unlocked your phone, you unlocked the secure folder. Till the screen locks, it's sorta safe to assume you are still holding the device. If a thief were to steal it, theft detection lock should lock everything

I understand your point, but this feature is not only about protection against theft. In real life, situations also involve family members, friends, or colleagues who may access your phone when it’s unlocked. Just because the phone itself is unlocked doesn’t mean I want everyone to open Secure Folder apps freely.

The previous option to lock Secure Folder every time I exit was useful because it ensured privacy in all scenarios, not just against thieves. Removing it reduces the flexibility and control users had over their own privacy.

That’s why I believe this option should be brought back — so users can choose the level of security that best suits their personal situation.

yes that otions is most important in the secure folder without that its being unsafe for all users soo please considered and bring it back

This is a shocking security lapse from Samsung. My son has an A56 on One UI 8 and he has this option to lock when you leave this folder. My S25 Ultra is on One UI 8 and has had the option removed. 

Samsung, can I ask you, what was your thinking in removing this option from certain handsets? Please tell us. Better still...  please tell us when you will fix it by reinstating the option to those handsets you removed it from.

Lock secure folder automatically when leaving the app was a very usefull feature of secure folder. This feature makes the secure folder more secure . The rest of the option now available to lock the secure folder is not usefull.

PLEASE BRING BACK THIS FEATURE

Yeaa badlly want this feature back

It feels unsafe for mee to use sec folder now as it makes me feel to check every single time 

Kindly bring back the old feature lock as u exit

After my october seventh update, now to access just to access my secure folder.My main screen has to have a phone lock.If I don't have a lock on my phone I can't even access my secure folder
