Photos being stored in Recent folder!

All pictures from Camera Roll, Whatsapp etc are being duplicated in 'Recent' folder. How can I stop this. Also folders created in Camera App for downloaded Telegram & Facebook pics seem to have disappeared 😞

Photos are not physically duplicated, you can think of Recents folder as a quick access folder. 

You can hide the Recents folder.

Gallery > Settings > Select albums to show ( toggle it on).

Go back to the mainstream of Gallery app > Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner > Select albums yo show > uptick Recents.

I hate the 'RECENT' folder. How can I get rid of it ?

Sorry this doesn't work.  If I can't delete the whole folder permanently,  can I at least empty it?

How  is it possible that I don't get what you just pictured and described on my GalaxyTablets7plus??

See my picture.  I need help with this crazy recent picture file I want to get rid of it.

I managed to solve this by going to Gallery>Settings and turning off the "Select albums to show" feature. That'll get rid of both the Faborites and Recent folders and you can still hide albums you don't want displayed. Hope it helps.
