Hi Samsung the maintenance mode is only useful on the repair of phones when companies dont wipe your phone. But because of data pretection most phone networks companies wipe phones when sent for repair thus maintenance mofe wont help. I know for many years i worked in varies phone vompanies . And last year sent a phone for repair in maintenance mode handset was returned wiped.

So please if the phone issue can be tepaored without wioing suggest maintenance mode and let the networks confirm when booking in a repair.

@Robinpoet: Maintenance mode was introduced to protect customer data during the repair process by creating a separate user account which only allows access to preinstalled applications. I do understand your concerns, however, as a factory data reset or main board replacement may be required to resolve a reported issue, and this would indeed remove your data from the device.

Don't worry though, as it is possible to create a backup of your data before entering maintenance mode by heading to Settings > Device care > Maintenance mode > Select 'Temporary cloud backup' or 'External storage backup' depending on your preference.
