instant messaging apps muted

Anyone having an issue with Samsung Galaxy A12 model since last Monday, where WhatsApp, Botim calls are muted indefinitely. Contacted Apps directly and they said its Samsung/Android issue. WhatsApp unmute icon doesn't change. With Botim it does change but remains muted. Have 2 handsets with same issue. Obviously a bug from a recent update as have done factory reset and followed all troubleshooting steps from Samsung Support.

Hey there

Silly question but when you are using these apps, have you turned the volume up using the buttons on the right of your device?

Also, do you have Bluetooth on? If so are you connected to either a watch or headphones? If so the volume may be playing out of those instead of the device.....

Thanks for the response. Volume is turned up. I can hear the caller but they can't hear me. In WhatsApp the mute icon can't be changed despite tapping on the icon. BOTIM the mute icon can be changed but remains muted. Bluetooth is switched off, not other devices being used. This is happening on 2 handsets from last week.
