Hi all,

The top line on the share screen shows the list of contacts whom I recently shared files with.

May I know how do you clear or delete this list? I don't want to turn the function off.

Thank you.

Hi. You could try and see if this works - Settings, Connected Devices, Quick Share, Link Sharing History. Then use the three dots to select the ones to delete.

Apologies. I don't think this suggestion will clear those types of links you're talking about.
You can stop them appearing all together by going to Settings, Advanced Features, Show Contacts When Sharing Content.
However, when you re-enable it, the contacts you had used previously will pop back.
Hope someone can find a better answer than me!

Yes, I would desperately like a solution to this. I need to clear my old boss from the default list!

I'd like a solution to this too!!! I've even deleted/modified my contacts on device, Google, Outlook etc hoping to enforce a change... No dice!

The solution I figured out is kind of tedious, and it'll require you to wipe out the data of those apps which give those contact suggestions to share. This also means totally removing your profile/account logged on those apps--you can always sign back in with your account as if the app's newly installed. Note that uninstalling some apps may not entirely clear your data from your phone, so deliberately clearing the app's data even if you don't uninstall the app is what I'm trying to suggest here.

To do this, press and hold the icon of the app which keeps on giving share suggestions--say WhatsApp for example. You should see that App Info icon ℹ️ on that pop up screen--click that > go to Storage > hit Clear Data

After doing this, you will need to sign back in to the app, like how you did it the first time you installed the app. So better keep your login credentials handy.

Slymer's solution is good. This may be the only way to actually get rid of those old share suggestions. Slymer is right that the problem is not comign from the "quick share" or "direct share" menu, but rather it's coming from the given app that's providing the direct share suggestions.

One different work-around is to install the Samsung program "Good Lock" from the Galaxy Store, and then from inside Good Lock, add the sub-app "Home Up". From that tiny app, you are able to set your own top Direct Share recipients in Share Manager. This won't erase the bad ones, but it will push them off to the right off the screen. This helps if you have a few people you want to add as your top 2 or 4.

Thanks so much, this worked a treat. Except for in the Home Up app, the list of available people shown for Facebook messenger is still 8 completely random friends. I was hoping it would allow me to pick the 2 people I send my Wordle/Connections scores to everyday but alas it one gives me 8 people that I've not chatted to in years. Does anyone know how the algorithm is working to pick these random?

Sounds like you'd have to follow Slymer's advice, too, and wipe out Facebook then reload it.
