Google maps download offline map

Hi all , hope this is ok to ask as not a Samsung app , I was traveling to an area where there's no signal so before I left home I downloaded an offline map , when I was ready to come home I connected my phone to my car , went in Google maps but due to no signal didn't load any map up at all ! Thought it would load up a map because I'd downloaded it ??? Or am i doing something wrong??? Thanks , Dave

Hi there 👋 have you tried to disable all mobile services like turning off mobile data or airplane mode? while accessing offline maps? Usually it works

I've not tried that tbh

In theory it supposed to work when you have no Internet access, but I've tried turning off mobile data or mobile services if needed or airplane mode and it was successful

Thanks , I was literally sat there in a car park today , no signal bars at all and I loaded up Google maps and it just couldn't navigate or pick up any map at all so had to guess my route until my phone actually got signal !

Might try on my way home tomorrow, I'll have signal bars but I can turn off 5g etc see if it works?

Hey 👋🏻 so I downloaded the area of my house and work ( only small distance) turned on aeroplane mode and it found the map and navigated , only issue would be if I went out of the downloaded area whilst driving I'd have no 5g signal , think I'd have to turn on plane mode , load up the map then turn off plane mode so it picked up maps when I get signal , thanks for your help

Yes i usually download big areas, and if I'm in the range where I can get signal i just turn 5g back on, I'm glad that helped 😊
