Hi everyone, I think Gemini recently got installed on my Galaxy S10e and it is ruining my gym going and walking about experiences. I have wired headphones with a mic and up/down volume and pause key. ALL. THE. TIME. Gemini is pausing whatever I'm listening to. Interrupting. I move my phone. It interrupts. I do nothing. It interrupts. I finally got it to stop saying "I'm sorry" something something. But it keeps popping up. All the forums I've searched, and youtubes I've watched, are for different types of phones or have different settings or options. Gemini doesn't feature in my apps list at all so I can't disable it. I can't get voice command or assistant to focus on anything else (there's no none or switching option).
It's really ruining the phone for me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do use gmail, google calendar is a MUST, but will those be affected if I can uninstall/stop/disable Google? I also need to be able to use the google play store.
I don't really want to leave Samsung (I hate Apple so wouldn't be going there anyways... what else could I get? Obvs not a google phone) I also like my wired cheap headphones that I have about 5 pairs of.
I really don't want to have to buy new tech/create more waste/etc.

@HattiLongSoks: Please try swiping up from your Home screen > Settings > Google > All services > Search, Assistant and Voice > Google Assistant > General > Google Assistant > Toggle the switch to the right so it greys out.
Also, head to Settings > Apps > Choose defaults apps > Digital assistance app, and explore your options from here.
Gemini needs to be manually assigned as your new Assistant in the Google settings on non-One UI 7 devices, so the steps above should hopefully resolve any unwanted interactions with Google Assistant.

I'll grab a screenshot next time it happens but a Gemini dialogue box appears on my screen at the bottom

Ahhh thank you so much AndrewL I think you solved it! I kept looking at Google in my apps I didn't even realise it had it's own area further down in Settings under "Accounts and backup"!
Amazing turned off as much as I can. Hopefully that's it done! Thank you!
