Dex Phone Mode

I searched internet and this forum but I cannot find a way to enable phone mode and use the phone as a pad especially for games where the touch does not work at all...

hmm, I just tried with A to C and C to C via Dock on a s9, both working fine.

is this a new thing for you, have you had the feature before and not now? my main solution would be to get a dock or wireless dongle and not use several connectors especially if they aren't for that phone.

that being said, you can pick up a good quality samsung alternative Dock wise on amazon for less than a tenner.

give me a little time I'm gonna dig out some of my s7 and s8 cables and connectors and test them out for ya.

Simply the option to use the phone as a touch pad is not there. I don't know where it should be because I never saw it. 
Maybe it's a totally different connection if you use USB or HDMI

this is what I don't get. you HAVE to run it wireless or via dex supported hubs, otherwise all you get is a screen mirror, is that what you get? or does it actually start your dex mode looking like a Windows wannabe setup?

No I get a real windows desktop connecting with the USB cable.

alright, lete try and replicate it , just need a s7 cable ... shouldn't be too long lol. its a big box of wires -_-

each time I connect I'm still getting the drop down notification so I'm a little baffled.

bear with me, as I have another issue when I connect your way ATM I can only get a screen mirror, so I wanna get to the bottom of this both for you and my own curiosity now lol

Any USB data cable should work the same...

that's what I figured, but it doesn't seem like that's the case with either mine or yours , that's why I want to replicate ykur scenario and see what's ticking

I have the same issue with a new S21 Ultra ... when connecting via USB cable to PC via DeX there is no notification to enable the phone as a touch pad.. I've tried it on two separate PCs, one using DeX wireless connection the other USB.... same result..

I was hoping to also utilise the SPen i.e. use the Phone like a drawing tablet and view on the PC.

Basically I can't get the functionality on this Samsung vid to work... I've seen a comment that the smart/clear view case may be an issue.. but taken it out of the case and still no avail.. any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Update.. I can get the touch pad to work - but only by connecting to a monitor using a usb-c to hdmi cable... the touchpad options comes straight up...

It would appear that running DeX on a PC.. doesn't allow the same function - unless anyone knows otherwise?
