Deluge of updates

I'm chuffed with my new A14, but the amount of updates I get is just plain ridiculous. I had a Youtube one the other day, six days after I had updated it! How on earth can two updates in less than one week be needed? And still they come, updates on top of updates...it's over the top and I wouldn't mind so much but I've set it to automatically download updates and that doesn't work. Whoever's responsible for the avalanche, calm down mate, sit down and have a cup of tea and give us a break!

It's Google who controls most of the updates, you can get them every day some the same one the following the one which you did updated. You can turn off updates in the Google Play Store and not have it enabled and update them when you want to.

Thanks Keith, I'll leave them on and seems like I'm not the only one getting them. Cheers amigoo.

Indeed @Strat621, we are all getting bombarded by app updates which is all good news when you realise that updates can be sent out to fix bugs and add new features etc. Sometimes without updates some apps may not work properly or even at all. I have my apps set to auto update, but I also check The Play Store every two days or so to make sure any apps that haven't auto updated get manually updated. Updates are a road to continuous improvements. I hope you enjoy your journey up this road from now on. 👍

Thanks Babishko, I've set updates to update automatically but they don't. Can you help?

Sometimes my apps don't auto update, and sometimes the reason is not clear, but all I can say is to keep checking the store manually every day or couple of days. Many people are not aware that it is also good practise to update your Google Play system whenever a new update to this is given out. This is not done on The Play Store. Check yours by going into settings and then scrolling down to About phone. Select this and scroll down to Software information. Select this and scroll down to Google Play system update. Select this, and yours will probably be out of date and it will direct you to update it. Your phone will need to reboot itself to complete the update. You may have two or three updates to work through. Keep checking until you get the message to say that your device is up to date. I am not saying this will make all your apps auto update, but keeping the Play system up to do date is only good for your device.
