Hi All, I have a Samsung A12 mobile and have opened up a new bank account online using an app. This bank sends you an activation code in an email, every time you open the bank app. However, when the email is sent, I get a prompt to open samsung email or gmail. I want to open outlook instead. So how do i change this prompt to say (pick) outlook. And I do not want to link my outlook acc to gmail or samsung emails account as they are both empty.

It seems strange that you got a prompt to open Gmail/Samsung Email for Outlook. Is the email notification from Outlook?

Based on the app that is sending the notification, that app should open when you click open the notification.

As you mention that Samsung Email is empty (no accounts added), check if you can uninstall it.

You can disable Gmail in Settings > Apps> Gmail.

It's unusual to get activation via email for banking. You could change the security settings in your banking app to send an SMS or use an authenticator app as opposed to email. I've never come across an app specifying a specific app to open an email. I think it's more likely to be the Gmail app and Samsung mail app trying to get you to use their apps. You could try ignoring the notification and just open outlook and see if the message is there. Another alternative if you don't want to uninstall the Gmail and Samsung mail apps may be to go into settings, apps and disable notifications for the apps causing a problem? I hope this is helpful
