Cannot upload files from the secure folder within the secure folder

There is a really frustrating issue where you cannot upload files from the secure folder to applications within the secure folder (including the built-in browser). You can only access files from the "personal" folder, which are not stored on the secure folder.

This is incredibly inconvenient for those who use the secure folder as it means that you have to move files out of the secure folder in order to upload them to other applications. I doubt this is a new 'feature', because the option to upload files is still there on some applications, but no files actually show up.

I am not the first one to report this, it has been mentioned several times and so it clearly isn't an isolated issue.

Accessing files within secure folder was broken for secure folder apps with the new update. E.g. The email apps cannot find files to attach.

There is an ongoing issue with some applications in the Secure Folder (e.g. Chrome, Opera and Samsung Internet Browser) not able to access any files within the Secure Folder.

As reported here

I did point this out on the support page and have just received the following response-

Hi,

Thank you so much for your patience and for sharing those details with us. We really appreciate you taking the time to explain what’s been happening after the recent updates. We completely understand how frustrating it must be not being able to access photos and videos from your Secure Folder when uploading files through your browser.

Our technical experts have now reviewed your report, and they’ve confirmed that this issue is related to the Google DocumentsUI system, which manages how files are accessed and shared across apps. They’ve already registered this with Google’s issue tracker, so it can be investigated further on their end.

At the moment, we’re awaiting feedback from Google, and once they’ve completed their checks, our team will provide an update accordingly.

In the meantime, if you need to upload files, you may still be able to do so directly from within apps that have Secure Folder access or by moving the files temporarily out of Secure Folder (if you’re comfortable doing so).

Thank you again for your understanding and for bearing with us while we work with Google to get this resolved. If you need anything else, you can always press the "Ask Again" button, and we will be happy to assist you further. ^SK
