Hi everyone,

I’ve been a long-time user of Google Calendar and have recently upgraded to the Samsung A55 (amazing phone, by the way!). However, I’m having an issue with Samsung Calendar that’s driving me mad.

I’m getting endless notifications from Samsung Calendar, and I can’t seem to stop them. I’ve tried disabling notifications through the settings, but Samsung Calendar doesn’t even appear in the app list. I even tried uninstalling the app, but somehow the notifications keep coming through—even after I deleted it. Go figure!

I’ve searched forums but haven’t found anything that addresses my specific issue. I really just want to stick with Google Calendar, but it seems almost impossible to fully get rid of Samsung Calendar.

If anyone knows a solution, I’d be so grateful. 🙏

Thanks in advance!

Right, first, head to Google Play and install Google calendar if you don't already have it installed
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar

Second, uninstall Samsung calendar, long press on its icon and choose uninstall.
Third, inside Google calendar app, add your Google account and give the app permission to use notification.
Do that and then come here again if you have issues, or mark this as an answer 😊

I uninstalled the Samsung calendar as I've always used Google calendar. Never had any problems.

Sorry, I may not have been clear earlier—I'm already using Google Calendar and have tried deleting the Samsung Calendar app. I’ve also followed the steps you suggested, but the notifications keep appearing even though the app has been deleted. I’ve tried force-stopping Samsung Calendar, but nothing seems to work. I feel like I’ve tried everything at this point. Thanks!"

Try settings > accounts and backup > manage accounts > select samsung account > sync account > toggle off calendar

Same thing on your Samsung profile in settings > Press on your Samsung profile accounts picture > Samsung cloud toggle off calendar 1734043649564.jpg

"I was really hoping that was the solution, so I set up a calendar appointment for 1 hour. My Google Calendar gave me a notification as expected, but then, 1 minute later, I got three notifications from Samsung Calendar. Ahhh, this is driving me crazy!"
