Bixby Text Call support on a Galaxy A16

Wife and I each have a new Galaxy A16 purchased 2 weeks ago.   We were looking for a "Call Screening" function, and were referred to use Bixby.   I had trouble finding and installing Bixby.   So, I called to Samsung support, and the agent there said that Bixby is not supported on the A16, but only on the higher end Samsung phones.  That is very disappointing as Call Screening is important to us.

Please consider supporting Bixby Text Call on the A-series phone, like our A16s.    Thanks.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community.

Please note that this community is for members—customers. Samsung will not see this for suggestions. Be sure to go to Samsung Members > Support > Feedback.

However, I'm going to be honest—there's a reason it's not supported. Bixby requires significant processing power and memory, which might not be ideal for the lower-end hardware found in the Galaxy A series.

Hello johnz237, thanks for your reply.   How does one get to Samsung Members > Support > Feedback ?
I could not find that.    Is there a specific URL?  Thanks.

@BobbyJohn,

I wish to clarify to you that certain A Series support Bixby as well. These include Galaxy A35, A36 5G, A42 5G, A50, A51, A52 5G, A53 5G, A54 5G, and A71 and you can verify from Use Bixby on the Galaxy A series.

I have used A51 where I first met Bixby and I am currently using A55 5G with Bixby. I have A16 5G and it's without Bixby. It's painful because Bixby vision is one of the main reason why I love Samsung. So, you may consider upgrading to any of the A series phone with Bixby function enabled.

Moreover, innovation is continuum. And so is the possibility of other low end A series getting Bixby. But I don't think you want to wait until then. So, you may simply consider the upgrade to another A series with Bixby.

Warm regards.

Hello Wise Joel,

Thanks for the update.  Yes, we would like to have and use Bixby on our A16 cell phones, but not at the cost of buying an upgrade phone.   The rest of the 99% of the A16 is working just fine, and spending more money just to get one nice-to-have function is not for us.   We shall wait several years until our current cell phones become unusable, then consider upgrade to a Bixby-capable phone.   Thanks.
