While installing my new phone, I wanted to try out again a voice assistant, among others, I tried "Bixby".
Last time I considered using an assistant, I couldn't choose freely the wake up phrase, whichever assistant I tried.
Considering multiple people may have a phone in the same place and one may own multiple devices (not necessarily two phones), having each device have its own name by which to call it seems quite handy.
I won't make speculations on why each assistant is locked on using a single phrase to activate it. I can even accept that there are technical limitations or the risk that some people might use curse words or things like that, which might constitute an issue.
Yet, I'm going to continue not using such services if it's not possible to customize the activation phrase.
So, could you please allow to customize the wake up phrase so that each device may respond independently?
To avoid useless answers:
- No, to make my device recognize only my voice is not enough if I own two devices.
- No, to configure custom commands is not enough. I want access to the full bixby with the activation phrase.
- No, I'm not talking about the nickname bixby should address me, but the name I can address bixby.
- I didn't find Bixby Labs which used to seem to allow that.
Plain and simple, I want to be able to say "Hi <name>" or "Hello <name>" or alike with a name of my choice (imagine a manga/anime/game/movie character for example here...). Even the Star Trek "Computer!" would be fun for some time I guess. More seriously, I want to use the name I chose, not some corp. company in my stead. No one would expect all cats to be named Fluffy.
