Apps close when phone is locked

I've seen some older posts that are similar to my problem but nothing has worked as a fix.

Whenever my S21 screen locks, it opens back up to the home screen no matter what app I was in before locking the phone. I've tried resetting it, checked if there's any battery saving modes on, there's no 3rd party RAM apps, Bixby is deactivated- truly I can't find a fix for this and it's beyond aggravating. Any help is appreciated 😔

Maybe there is a setting on there thats closing them down?

This could be caused by battery optimization settings, which sometimes closes background activity or could be RAM settings on your phone e.g does it have RAM Plus enabled and set to the maximum? Just a couple of things to check out

My phone has just gone all AI on me..has anyone noticed how daft our phones have gone since meta invasion...hate to bring it up..but has anyone else had issues since gemini..meta..ai has bounced about..so has my privacy And comfort with my phone and data..

I might just not be right good with techno...but I can smell a rat...does that make any sense
