Washing machine seal metal come out

My eco bubble washing machine rubber door seal was half off and when I opened the door this metal ring fell out. I’ve put the rubber seal back round, it is a bit bent in one area, and I don’t know where that metal ring goes. Can I fix this myself or do I need a repair person to come out?

This is the result of you shutting the door and trapping an item of clothing between the glass and the door rubber. The band goes back in the groove around the rim of the door seal. You will need to put a screw driver in the hole next to the spring and stretch it around.

I had the same problem and can’t fix it for 2 months  I did put the steel ring back but it leaking little  did you fix it?

Yeah the repair person came out and had to replace the rubber seal. Unfortunately it’s due to trapping clothing in the door which means it wasn’t covered by the warranty

This has just happened us today. Do you mind me asking how much did they charge to fix it?

oh no perleeeeease! - are you telling me people would actually call out a washing machine engineer all the way out to their house just to put one of these back on! ??

I put the metal ring back on myself but it didn’t fix the problem, the washing machine still leaked. Someone had to come out and replace the entire rubber seal
