I've had this Ecobubble VRT 12Kg for just over 5 years, it was a care plan replacement of a previous faulty Samsung Washer we had. John Lewis had to upgrade us to 12Kg as there wasn't a comparative 10Kg model at the time. The RRP for this model was £1200! It should last more than 5 years.
I paid Currys £119 to have their engineers try to repair it, they were able to replace the main control board and test the motor, they wanted to try replacing the button panel and control board again but as the parts are so expensive they have just cancelled and refunded me. While they were here they also tested the majority of the wiring harness, and didn't find any damage.
The first symptom was the washer pausing mid cycle, adding time onto the cycle each time, so the cycle never completes. After trying calibration and a few other things, it threw up a 3C2 error which is a motor fault, but like I say the motor has been confirmed working by Currys.
This model is belt driven, and I can't locate any suspect sensors that might be causing the motor issue, so my only thought is that it must still be a PCB issue and Currys were correct that the button panel should be replaced at the same time as the main control board so that one can't cause a fault in the other.
If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. I don't really want to send £1200 to the scrapheap over a £50 part. I've included a photo inside the rear panel in case someone knows of a sensor that can cause 3C2 on this model.

Currys also tested it by swapping it out for a new motor, which didn't solve the issue. So swapped back.
Is the tachometer replaceable or internal to the motor?

It was out of warranty when I first got in contact with them. I booked a paid repair that they have to refund if they don't fix it, it would only be their own time they were wasting.
I watched them replace the motor with a band new one and the error code still showed.

No, hence my post here.
They're quite a shotgun approach kind of thing, just replace parts until it works. I was just unfortunate that the parts are more expensive than their service.

I'm looking for possible solutions here, I don't have money to throw at call out charges if it's irreparable.

Yes but to be fair your last 3 washers were most probably of the Carbon Brush type and indeed had a tacho coil on the rear - these brushless motors on the models such as the WW12K8412OW (and ww90T xxx etc..) are inverter motors and do not have a tacho coil fitted to the back of them

On my Samsung WW90T (9kg) washer on the rear is a service socket (HASS its called) stands for 'Home Appliance Smart Service' I would have thought all newer Samsung washing machines (in the last 5 years anyway?) have this socket on the back of the washing machine to take the guesswork out of what component has failed on the washing machine?
Then with the correct equipment be able to detect what the fault is easily?

There is an open socket inside the top panel, but I was pretty sure only Samsung have the tool to plug into it. Are the HASS devices available for rent anywhere?
