Hi there,

My washing machine has stopped working and I was hoping you could advise me further.

I have a Samsung WF70F5E3W4W Eco Bubble washing machine 7Kg.

The machine seems to fill and drain no problem but the drum doesn’t move / spin at all. Doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s a half load or empty drum. The countdown clock on the display continues to count down but the drum doesn’t move.

No error messages and I’ve checked the debris filter, cleaned it and put it back in, but still no change.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks & best regards,

TJ Hegarty

This has just happened to my machine as well, extremely poor design, if i cant get a part to repair, then i will.replace it with an LG model, no excuses to produce such a poor design & also use plastic base part, what are you doung about this Samsung? You cant just stay silent when its clearly happening to many of your customers

I am just reporting the same problem. Grinding noise similar to a car gearbox failing, drum will not turn by hand on my 7.5kg Bubblewash digital inverter model. From what I have read this might be an expensive repair and not worth doing. This machine has not been subjected to all that much use over its 5yr lifespan. Rather disappointing

if the motor has not snapped off its support, and you can not hear any spin noise coming from the motor then I suspect (it looking like a non brushless motor) it could be something as simple and cheap as the carbon brushes need replacing (as they would on any other make of washing machine with one that uses a carbon brush type motor)

if you cannot move the drum by hand , and took the belt off the motor and drum pulley and then still cannot move the drum by hand then the drum bearings may have failed / collapsed / seized (run out of lubrication)  and stopping the drum from moving - then yes could turn out to be expensive.

Hi there, I have the same problem as above in that the drum is not spinning. It’s a similar model Samsung but when I try to spin the drum by hand it does not move, like it’s stuck / jammed. Any help appreciated, thanks

Hi, did anyone find a fix for the issue that TJ Hegarty at the start of this thread. I have the same issue. Drum not spinning, but spins by hand, done calibration mode no change, motor works fine, machine counts down cycle as usual just no turning of. The drum. Thanks

Hi Andrew, i am facing a similar issue as when i start a cycle or the calibration mode, my machine just makes a sucking noise (possibly the pump?) and then within 30s will stop the cycle and unlock the door (or show "----" in calibration mode). Essentially never starting the cycle. I can spin the bin manually and I have replaced the motherboard because I couldn't enter diagnostics mode nor reset the machine, but the problem remains. Considering calibration mode does not initiate, you think this could be a motor related issue?

Kind regards,

Floris
