Our Built in oven NV66M3571BS decided to go well above temperature, to the point that it made our food caught on fire while in the ‘Warm up’ setting. Afterward, I placed an oven thermometer to check the temp setting accuracy. I set the oven to 225 degrees F, and the oven quickly went to 225 and continued to climb until it went past the 450 degrees F reading on the themometer. At that point, I shut off the oven, but it continued heating.even when off. I had to shut the oven off from the house breaker.
Things that I’ve done thus far. According to the manual, the only way to reset the settings is to shut it off from the house breaker for 15 mins. I actually had it off for 3 hrs, to no avail.
I also went into the settings and tried to calibrate the temperature down by 35 degrees F in the settings. That also did not work.
I am assuming the temp probe in the oven is faulty, but I find it odd that there is no failsafe preventing the oven from an over heating run off…
Calling in service tomorrow, but a bit concerned that this oven could have burned our house down if we had not been in the kitchen when the french toasts we were keeping in the ‘warm’ setting caught on fire inside the oven…
Pretty scary!

Hi there, @Sisiohl. This does sound very concerning. Have you contacted and requested service already? Are you based in the UK or Ireland? If so, we can certainly arrange a call back for you.

Hi there, yes! I have a request for service and hope our oven can be repaired soon. I am still concerned about how easy it was for the oven to fail in this manner and I am glad my wife and I were home when it happened. Our teenage kids do a lot of cooking while we are away, not sure they would have known to shut off the oven from the breaker.
