Cooker hood install on tiles

Hi all , just got a new Samsung cooker hood , my wall is tiled already , I'm going to buy some proper wall fixings , my question is am I ok keeping the tiles on the wall and fitting the hood, thanks

As I understand it, it is fine to fit on top of tiles as long as you make sure your fixings are well enough in to the wall behind so hood is held by the wall and not just the tiles. ( would strongly recommend that you get a proper tile drill bit of the correct size to initially drill through the tiles if you don't already have one 😀 )

Start slow on tile if not in the grout between tiles and make sure you have use a masonry drill bit. As @papashaun said make sure the hole goes in to the wall and use wall plugs

to stop the drill bit from sliding around on the tile as you start to drill it, a few strips of masking tape on top of each other should stop it from slipping on the tiles as you drill. 

Putting 'hammer' switch to 'on', on the drill could be enough to crack the tiles so be careful of that, you could try a masonry drill bit or glass/tile drill bit with the  hammer action turned 'off' on the drill to avoid cracking the tiles
